From June to September, daytime temperatures across the UAE regularly pass 40°C. Air conditioning does most of the work, but a few small habits and the right accessories make a real difference to comfort, and can help your AC work less hard.
1. Keep the air moving indoors
Still air feels hotter than moving air. A circulation fan placed opposite your AC vent pushes cool air into corners and other rooms instead of letting it pool near the unit. Our electric air circulation fan is designed for exactly this.
- Close curtains on sun-facing windows between 11am and 4pm.
- Run the fan with the AC, not instead of it, on the hottest days.
- Clean AC filters every few weeks; dust reduces airflow.
2. Cool down your balcony or garden
Misting systems spray very fine water droplets that evaporate quickly and cool the air around them. A set of brass misting nozzles connects to a garden hose line and works well on shaded terraces in the evening. Misting works best in drier weather; on very humid coastal nights the effect is smaller.
3. Stay cool on the move
For school runs, queues and outdoor errands, a USB rechargeable neck fan keeps a light breeze on your face while your hands stay free.
4. Protect your car from the sun
A parked car in direct sun can get extremely hot inside within minutes. A reflective windshield sun shade helps keep the dashboard and steering wheel cooler. For cold drinks on longer drives, a portable 12V mini car fridge runs from the car socket.
5. Drink more than you think you need
Heat exhaustion can come on quickly. Keep water within reach, take breaks in the shade, and avoid hard outdoor activity at midday. If you or someone around you feels dizzy, confused or stops sweating, get medical help.
